Imagine that your child has cancer. No one wants to go there, but a local family is living with it on a daily basis. Olivia Stoy is a spunky 12 year old girl who is fighting cancer at Riley Hospital for Children. As a community we wanted to show support to the family. When we asked them how best we could to that, they asked us to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children, so that is what we are going to do. Unfortunately Olivia is just one of several children in our area that has been hit with cancer or other severe illnesses. Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health is one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals. Expert, family-centered pediatric care is available at Riley for every child who needs it.
Riley Hospital opened in 1924 as the state’s first hospital exclusively for children. Now, more than 90 years later, Riley is home to the state’s largest pediatric research program, where physician-scientists move their discoveries as quickly as possible to the bedsides of children.
Riley Children’s Foundation is the fundraising arm of Riley Hospital for Children. Donations are used to support groundbreaking pediatric research, patient programs that need additional funding, Riley Maternity and Newborn Health and Family Support Programs such as Child Life and Social Work.
Hope at Hartland will be a day filled with music, featuring Mike Dougherty, Denny Bice, Ted Aleshouse, The Thriftnicks and Jim Weber, food, a silent auction and of course wine. All proceeds from the sale of food and silent auction will be donated to Riley's as well as 10% of all wine sold that day. All money raised goes toward cancer research and to help families in need while their child is being treated for cancer or other life threatening illnesses. Keep watching our Facebook page for updates on Silent Auction Items coming in.
